Dipping Lug

‘Dipping Lug‘ is a new label by Netty Sopata of Diggory Brown.

Experimentation with collaborative exhibition pieces as part of Honnunar Mars (2018) and Aural Textiles (2019) has developed a method of working in which the collation and plotting of daily data from the Shipping Forecast determines the design process: As the shipping forecast data is plotted the designer begins to see the shape of a garment: The finished ‘plot line’ is mirrored, repeated, cut out to scale and folded to form either a zero-waste garment design or decorative pattern.
